The beginning - 27BCE
At the start Rome was a republic that had recently taken over a flawed monarchy. The people of Rome at the time wanted a more unified government to lead them. Julius Caesar was the man to step up to the task as he was appointed dictator of Rome, he stepped up to the task well winning many military battles, The elites in Rome assassinated Juluis in attempt to save 'The Roman way of life'
The rise of power
After Julius Caesar's assassination, political turmoil ensued setting of many civil wars as many people fought to gain control of Rome. In the end Caesar's adopted son Gaius Octavius took control of Rome. He continued what his father started, conquering nearby lands such as Egypt. A main reason that the Roman empire was able to reign over so many countries was its military with tactics ahead of its time. An example is
